MMT, Beatle sleeves get deluxe treatment in two books

(9/2/02) Continuing its Beatles Album Collection series spotlighting an album per book, the Beatles Fan Next Generation Club of England released its latest volume in May on "Magical Mystery Tour," plus a second book, "Across the Universe," focusing on Beatle sleeves from around the world. Both deluxe hardbound books are both beautiful to look at, plus they have extensive information.

The 208-page MMT hardcover book, volume 9 in its Album Collection, features chapters on the album's recording, song variations, plus lists of releases and variations of the album and related singles all over the world, including on bootleg. A color section in the middle features pictures of MMT and related releases, plus samples of ads, as well.

"Across the Universe," which runs approx. 400 pages (they aren't numbered, so this is a guess based on the MMT book), features color illustrations of releases from the Decca "My Bonnie" through to "Yellow Submarine Soundtrack," plus advertising and a huge collection of bootleg covers.

The books are available in limited editions of 5,000 (first 1,000 autographed by the author) through the Beatles Fans Next Generation Club in the UK.
